Highway Improvements
Following recent speed surveys and a walkabout with the Parish Council KCC do not believe that a reduction in speed limit on the A20 would be appropriate for this strategic route stating that the cost would be prohibitive and that there would be no guarantee that the speed limit would be adhered too.
KCC has agreed that the existing bend warning signs on the approach to Aldon Lane are incorrect and very faded. KCC has agreed to install new warning signs to show the bend/curve in the road with a side road blip. The warning signs will also be accompanied with new SLOW road markings to highlight the hazard to drivers.
KCC has also agreed to replace the existing 50mph gateway signs west of Aldon Lane which are very faded and will also add a 50mph roundel to the carriageway. It is anticipated that the works will be completed by the end of February 2024.
