Defibrillators

Addington Parish Council has adopted two redundant BT phone boxes and has installed defibrillators in each.

One is sited in the village and one on a garage forecourt on a main road.

Locations:
Former BT Box, London Road, Addington, ME19 5AL (outside Jet Garage)
Former BT Box, Trottiscliffe Road, Addington, ME19 5BB (opposite The Angel Inn)

Kent County Councillor Sarah Hohler funded half of one of the units from her member’s grant, and she joined members of the parish council for the unveiling. The defibrillators have been registered with the emergency services and will be inspected each month by a qualified electrician.

In the event of an emergency please call 999 as normal.  If the defibrillator is required the 999 operator will give you the code to open the cabinet.  Please make sure to take a mobile phone with you to call 999. The defibrillator will talk you through the stages, no training is required and the 999 operator can also assist with instructions if required.

The Parish Council sincerely hope that the defibrillators are never required but it is reassuring to have this in place.
