Recreation Ground

The recreation ground was created in the 1960’s and then vested with the Charity Commission as a Trust under a 99 year Lease and Trust Deed.

The organisation is managed, maintained and developed by volunteer Trustees from the various member organisations. The high quality facilities that are now accessible by the community have been provided through the dedication of these volunteers.

This way of providing access to recreation opportunities for both free-play, structured team sports and social interaction results in a true “best value” outcome. This is the main strength of the system but it also depends on the commitment of community volunteers to maintain quality and compliance with the management expectations for open spaces and providing a good experience for users.

The Recreation Ground was registered by the Parish Council with the Fields in Trust in 2012 and is now protected in perpetuity as an open space for people to enjoy.
