The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – Well, the village certainly celebrated in style!

The beacon alight

Well, the village certainly celebrated in style!

The Beacon lighting on Thursday 2 June was well attended and marked the start of a weekend of celebrations.

A team from Addington played cricket against Trottiscliffe on the Friday – a truly friendly game though Trottiscliffe did win!

Saturday, despite the weather, saw many turn out for a wonderful family fete on the recreation ground with the most delicious cakes and drinks served in the hall by representatives from the church.

A most successful and enjoyable barn dance culminated the celebrations.

The working group which comprised representatives from all the village organisations including the Parish Council managed to obtain lottery funding for the event. Our thanks goes to everyone who organised and helped out to make this most amazing commemorative weekend.
