Preparing for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Beacon

A committee has been formed to include representatives from the key village organisations to co-ordinate events to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The committee is working on holding both a family daytime event and an evening of fun on Saturday 4 June 2022. Ideas being discussed include face painting and games and a barn dance in the evening.  If you have any suggestions please do get in touch.

The Parish has applied to the Pageantmaster to be part of the official lighting of the beacons. The aim is to achieve the lighting of 70 Beacons in each County, whether they be public or private ones, with each Beacon representing a year in the life of The Queen’s 70 year reign. The lighting of the beacon will take place on Thursday 2 June 2022 at 9.15pm.
