Becoming a local councillor

It’s Election Year! Run as a Local Councillor!

Kent Association of Local Councils is running an online event that lasts for an hour to give potential candidates an idea of the rewarding nature of the role of a Councillor in a Parish Council.

This event is being held on the 21 March 2023 at 7pm and is totally free.

You can become a Councillor as long as you are:         

• British or a citizen of the Commonwealth or European Union
• At least 18 years old
• Registered to vote in the area or have lived, worked or owned property there for at least 12 months before an election.
