Ancient Oak Tree

Ancient Oak Tree

The Parish Council is still waiting for T&MBC to make a decision about the future of the ancient English Oak tree on the village green estimated to be 265 years old. If T&MBC determine that the tree should be removed it has been suggested that we hold a farewell ceremony.

It has also been suggested that we replace the tree with another tree or try and make something from the existing tree. We understand that the trunk is quite hollow but we will consider all of these options.

If considered safe and viable our preference would be to leave some of the tree as a natural habitat in a way similar to this picture.

As always, we welcome your views on this.
